Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most clients describe it as a warm rubber-band snap. Our Lumière Elite machines have built-in sapphire cooling, which dramatically reduces discomfort compared to older systems. Most people find sessions easier than waxing.
How many sessions do I need?
Most clients see a huge reduction after just 1 treatment, with full courses ranging from an average of 6–12 sessions depending on the area, your skin type, and hair characteristics. Sessions are spaced 3-5 weeks (face) and 6-8 weeks (body) - extending as the hair reduces - apart to target hair in its active growth phase.
How long does each session take?
Small areas like the upper lip take 5 minutes. Underarms or bikini line, around 15 minutes. Full legs, about 45 minutes. We'll give you exact timings at your consultation.
How long do laser results last?
After a full course, you can expect significant long-term hair reduction of an average of 80-90%. Most clients need on average 1–3 maintenance sessions per year to keep results and any regrowth at bay. Sessions and top-ups depend on many factors and vary between each individual.
Does laser remove hair permanently?
Laser delivers long-term hair reduction rather than guaranteed 100% removal - with an average of 80-90% permanent hair reduction. After a full course most treated hair is gone for good, and any regrowth tends to be finer and lighter. On average 1-3 yearly top ups are needed to deal with any regrowth.
Is it safe for all skin types?
Yes — our triple-wavelength technology (755nm, 808nm, 1064nm) safely treats Fitzpatrick skin types I through VI. We adjust settings for your skin tone and hair type at every session.
Can I have laser while pregnant?
We don't treat pregnant clients. There's no evidence of harm, but as a precaution we wait until after pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Can I have laser on medication?
Some medications (e.g. certain antibiotics, retinoids, photosensitising drugs) increase skin sensitivity. Bring a full list of medications to your consultation and we'll advise.
Does it work on hormonal hair (e.g. PCOS)?
Yes — laser is one of the most effective treatments for hormonal hair growth, including PCOS. You may need more sessions plus ongoing maintenance, but results are very achievable. Our specialists are trained in this area.
Is laser safe for trans / gender-affirming clients?
Absolutely. We treat clients across the gender spectrum, with practitioners experienced in gender-affirming care. Everyone is welcome in a judgment-free environment.
How soon will I see results?
Most clients see a significant reduction in hair % after just 1 session. Visible reduction is usually clear after 4–6 sessions. Most clients see dramatic, long-lasting results by session 8. Each body area/individual responds in a unique way to treatment depending on many factors, so results vary from person to person.
Can I shave between sessions?
Yes — shaving is the only hair-removal method allowed between sessions. Waxing, plucking and threading pull hair from the root, which means the laser has nothing to target.
What should I do before my session?
Shave the treatment area 12-24 hours before. Avoid waxing, plucking, fake tan, sun exposure and retinol for at least 2-4 weeks. Come with clean, product-free skin.
What happens during the consultation?
We assess your skin type, discuss your goals, run a patch test, and build a personalised treatment plan. We explain full treatment to you and give you a chance to answer any questions you have. You will receive a TreatCard to earn free treatments and a gift bag. Can i go in sun after treatment - change to 2-4 weeks
What should I do straight after my session?
Apply our recommended cooling gel. Avoid hot showers, saunas, swimming and intense workouts for 48 hours. No deodorant on treated underarms.
Can I go in the sun after treatment?
Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks and wear SPF50 on treated areas — even in winter. Sun-damaged skin can pigment unevenly after laser.
Will my skin be red after the session?
Mild redness and slight bumps are normal and usually settle within a few hours. Apply cooling gel and avoid any harsh products for the recommended time - consult with our technicians for specific time frames.
